What is a
Bengal........
The Bengal Cat
is a domestic hybrid crossed originally with a domestic cat and an
Asian Leopard cat (Felis Bengalensis). The Asian Leopard cat
is found in the Southern parts of Asia. It weighs between 7 and 15
lbs. It is elusive by nature and avoids confrontation.
The Asian Leopard Cat is spotted and in many cases their spots are
rosetted. Rosetted is a two-tone spot that has a dark outline
and a warmer contrasting inside color. Inside colors range
from shades of red, orange and tan. Rosettes resemble
arrowheads; donuts or paw prints which give the distinctive wild
look to their coat. Their eyes are crisp and distinctive and
their coat has sharp contrast. They have a small head with
more pronounced whisker pads then a domestic cat. All of these
qualities give the Bengal of today
its distinctive look and type. It is no wonder Bengal Cats
have become very popular in the cat fancy arena and as family
pets.
The Bengal Cat
is affectionate, athletic, playful, energetic and will amaze you
with their ability to learn and understand commands. They can
be leash trained and click trained as well. Some Bengals
fetch, do tricks and even come to you at your command. Bengal
Cats have the same requirements that any other domestic cat would
have. They are cared for by your local veterinarian and don't
require any special shots or vaccinations other than the normal
shots that any domestic cat is given throughout its lifetime.
Bengal Cats tend to be vocal and lovers of water. They get
this love for water from their ancestor the Asian Leopard Cat, which
spends some of its day near streams in the
wild.
The Purrfect
Spot has available Bengal babies year round and ships within the
United
States. I often have Pet
Quality, Breeder Quality and Show Quality kittens. I hold
all of my kittens to at least 10 weeks as to give them time to
build up their natural immune system and have all of their
shots done before they leave for their new home. All
Bengals are sold with a full health guarantee and my cattery is
tested FELV and FIV Free.
